SESRIC organized the Training Course on “Money and Banking Statistics” at Central Bank of Somalia (CBS) during 19-21 December 2016.

The training course was conducted by Mr. Alex Patrick Ochan, Head of Monetary and Financial Statistics Section of Bank of Uganda with the participation of relevant officials of the CBS.

The training course focused on the following topics:

• Workshop – Case Study 1: Institutional Units and Economic Sectors
• Characteristics and Classification of Financial Instruments
• Stock, Flows and Accounting Rules
• Money, Liquidity, Credit and Debt
• Compilation Framework for Monetary Statistics and Standardized Report Forms
• Workshop-Case Study 2 - Central Bank Sectoral Balance Sheet and Survey
  • Other Depository Corporations Sectoral Balance Sheet and Survey
• Workshop-Depository Corporations Survey
• Use cases for Monetary and Financial Statistics
