Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on “SDG 5 (Gender Equality) Indicators” with the participation of 17 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and relevant national authorities of 7 Arabic-speaking countries of the OIC.

Ms. Nehaya ODEH, Director of Gender Statistics Department at the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), provided the training course.

The three-day training covered the following topics:

• Reality of Gender Statistics in the World
• Institutionalizing Gender Statistics
• SDG 5-Achieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls
• SDG 5 Metadata and Data Availability
• Gender Statistics in Other SDG Goals
• Monitoring Progress and Challenges
