SESRIC, in collaboration with the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), and Women Development Organization (WDO) organised a virtual Training Course on “Developing Women and Girls’ Employability Skills for Facilitating Labour Market Entry in OIC-Africa Countries” on 30-31 October 2024. The training was held within the framework of SESRIC’s Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB) and in line with the 8th Session of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women Resolution No. 7/8-W, and the 49th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Resolution No. 6/49-E.
The training course was provided by competent experts from İŞKUR, UNDP Türkiye and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization of Türkiye (KOSGEB) for the benefit of 62 experts and executives from relevant Ministries and national institutions responsible in the area of social development 13 OIC African Countries.
The main objective of the training was to delve into the multifaceted challenges hindering women and girls’ employability in OIC-Africa countries and explore the pivotal role of skills development in enhancing their integration into the labour market. The course also emphasised the importance of equipping women and girls with essential skills and entrepreneurship knowledge, empowering them to overcome barriers and successfully integrate into labour market.
SESRIC has developed Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB) in 2021 with the aim of supporting and contributing to the efforts of the OIC member countries towards enhancing the institutional and human capacities of their national institutions working in the fields of social development.
