Within the framework of the Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia, organised a Training Course on “Developing Effective, Reliable, and Affordable Social Protection Services for Women in OIC-Africa Countries” on 15-16 April 2025.
The training course aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and good practices in strengthening social protection services for women in OIC Africa, focusing not only on improving their well-being, but also their economic empowerment as a result.
Experts from the Ministry of Social Affairs of Tunisia as well as the UN Women West and Central Africa Regional Office shared their expertise on key topics such as national social protection systems, social safety nets for women in rural areas, empowering women and reducing poverty.
The training brought together a total of 113 experts from across 16 OIC countries, providing a platform for sharing experiences on developing more effective and sustainable social protection frameworks tailored to the needs of women in OIC-Africa Countries.
