SESRIC delegation headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated in the Senior Officials Meeting of the 9^th Session of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women in Islamabad.

During the meeting, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK presented key findings of the "OIC Women and Development Report 2026", prepared as the main technical background document for the Ministerial Conference.

The report provides an in-depth assessment of women's socio-economic and political empowerment across OIC Countries, where 1 billion women accounted for nearly half of the total OIC population and about 26% of the world's female population.

• Female life expectancy rose from 63.9 years in 2000 to 71.2 years in 2025
• Youth literacy among women reached 81.9%
• Account ownership among women increased from 47% to 77% in the last decade

The report also offers evidence-based policy recommendations to support the implementation of #OPAAW.
