SESRIC participated in the 22^nd Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Poverty Alleviation Working Group, held virtually on 2 May 2024. The meeting focused on the theme “Alleviating Adverse Effects of Natural Disasters on Poor Segments of Society in the OIC Member Countries”.

SESRIC participated in the 22^nd Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Tourism Working Group, held virtually on 2 May 2024. The meeting, which brought together 47 representatives from 13 OIC member countries’ relevant national public and private institutions as well as international and regional organisations responsible for tourism, focused on the theme “Developing and Branding Gastronomy Tourism Destinations within OIC”.

SESRIC participated in the 21^st Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Financial Cooperation Working Group, which was held virtually on 30 April 2024. The meeting focused on the theme “Digital Transformation of Payment Systems in OIC Member Countries”. It brought together relevant representatives from the financial authorities of the OIC countries and relevant OIC institutions.

SESRIC held a virtual coordination meeting with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT) of the Republic of Indonesia and Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) on 30 April 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss collaborative efforts in implementing the matrix of agreed actions from the 7^th Annual Meeting of OIC Institutions (7th ACMOI) on Training of Trainers for Digital Skill Development.

SESRIC participated in the 22^nd Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Agriculture Working Group, which was held virtually on 30 April 2024. The meeting focused on the theme “Developing Livestock Production and Fishery to Foster Food Security for Sustainable Agricultural Development in OIC Countries”. It brought together relevant representatives from the agriculture authorities of the OIC countries and OIC institutions including the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA).

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organized a Webinar on “Monitoring Health for SDGs in the Post-COVID-19 Era” on 30 April 2024. The webinar was conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank (WB), the BPS Statistics of Indonesia, Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and Ministry of Health of Türkiye.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Nasser Ayman AL-MAJALI, Secretary General of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) on the sidelines of the 2024 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings and commemoration of the IsDB Group’s 50^th Anniversary held in Riyadh.

On the sidelines of the 2024 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings and the Commemoration of its 50^th Anniversary held in Riyadh, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK engaged in a bilateral meeting with Ms. Dima Al-Khatib, Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC). The meeting aimed to explore additional areas of cooperation concerning South-South and Triangular Cooperation for sustainable development between the two institutions.

A SESRIC delegation, led by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated in the 2024 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings under the theme “Cherishing our Past and Charting our Future” and the Golden Jubilee celebration of the IsDB Group’s 50^th Anniversary in Riyadh.

H.E. Mohammad Hassan HABIBOLLAH ZADEH, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at SESRIC Headquarters. During the visit, they explored opportunities for collaboration on capacity-building and technical cooperation initiatives between SESRIC and the national institutions of Iran.

Dr. Saqlain JAVED, Deputy Executive Director of IPHRC and Mr. Hacı Ali AÇIKGÜL, Vice Chairman of IPHRC, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC. The meeting aimed to strengthen the existing partnership between SESRIC and IPHRC in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Amb. Victor TCHATCHOUWO, Ambassador of Cameroon in Ankara, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at SESRIC Headquarters. During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK and H.E. Amb. TCHATCHOUWO exchanged ideas on the facilitation of knowledge exchange across various social and economic sectors, aiming to benefit national institutions in Cameroon by strengthening their skills and capacities.

Within the framework of the SESRIC Halal Capacity Building Programme (Halal-CaB), the Centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia (BAPPENAS) and the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), successfully organised a Workshop on “Halal Industry Development in OIC Member Countries”. The workshop took place on 24-25 April 2024, through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on “SDG 4 (Quality Education) Indicators” on 24-25 April 2024 with the participation of 57 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Ministries of Education of 18 OIC countries through an online video conferencing platform.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Amb. Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol KILIÇ, Director General of IRCICA, in Istanbul. The visit aimed to further strengthen the existing close collaboration between SESRIC and IRCICA in areas of mutual interest and explore potential initiatives and activities to benefit the OIC countries.

A delegation from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population (MLSPP) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by H.E. Fuad HEYDEROV, Director General of Labour Policies, met with H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at SESRIC Headquarters.

SESRIC participated in an informative session on the İş Pozitif initiative on 17 April 2024. The session was hosted by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) and brought together representatives from various international organisations.

H.E. Mariam A. KHAN, UNFPA Representative for Türkiye and Country Director for Azerbaijan and Georgia, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK. The visit aimed to discuss possible cooperation opportunities to leverage the respective expertise of UNFPA and SESRIC for the benefit of OIC countries.

SESRIC held its ninth Technical Review Meeting on 16 April 2024 at its headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye. The meeting aimed to discuss and present the outcomes of the latest SESRIC research report on ‘International Tourism in OIC Countries 2024’.

SESRIC participated in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum on 16-18 April 2024 at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York. Throughout the Forum, SESRIC’s representative engaged in numerous breakout sessions and side events organised by the OIC countries and relevant institutions. Additionally, the representative held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Forum with representatives from the Permanent Observer of the OIC to the UN, Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the UN, UN Statistics Division (UNSD), UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC). These meetings aimed to explore potential collaborations focused on youth empowerment.
