SESRIC and the Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara to concretise their cooperation efforts.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ankara, H.E. Amb. Ilkhom KHAYDAROV. She extended her best wishes for success in his new role.

SESRIC hosted at its Headquarters the Uzbekistan Students Community in Ankara. The visit aimed at deepening the students’ understanding of the works of SESRIC and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for the member countries.

SESRIC hosted at its Headquarters the Orientation and Development Programme of the African Students Association in Ankara to support the African students studying in Türkiye. The programme was attended by 57 students from 15 OIC African Countries.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Abdulaziz ALADWANI, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Türkiye, at the Embassy of Kuwait in Ankara. The visit aimed to further explore potential areas of cooperation with a particular focus on strengthening the institutional and human capacities of Kuwait’s national institutions.

SESRIC participated in the First Coordination Meeting on the “Regional Capacity Development Activities in Demographic and Social Statistics in 2025”, organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) on 17 December 2025.

The 26^th Ordinary Session of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) was held on 14–18 December 2025 in Jeddah.

SESRIC participated in the Online Consultation Meeting on the “International Classification of Dying Places (ICP)”, organized by the EOLinPLACE in collaboration with IAPO and Eurocarers on 11 December 2025.

SESRIC participated in the Panel Discussion on “Strengthening OIC Food Systems through the Leadership of Rural Women and Youth”, organized by the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) on 11 December 2025 in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in commemoration of the Second OIC Food Security Day.

A SESRIC delegation, headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General, participated in the 9^th ACMOI, held at the OIC Headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 10–11 December 2025. The meeting provided an important platform to strengthen coordination among OIC institutions and enhance their collective efforts to address the priority development needs of Member Countries.

As part of its Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series, SESRIC organised a webinar titled “Measuring Progress on SDG 9: Strengthening Statistical Capacities for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization” on 9 December 2025. The webinar was attended by 40 official statisticians and experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and line ministries of 16 OIC countries as well 5 international and regional institutions.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on “SDG 4 (Quality Education) Indicators” for the benefit of 70 participants from National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 29 OIC Countries on 9-10 December 2025 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of Environment Capacity Building Programme (Environment-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the G20 Global Land Initiative Coordination Office at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the General Directorate of Combating Desertification and Erosion under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a Webinar on “Land Degradation and Restoration” on 9 December 2025.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mounir ANOUTI. 

SESRIC participated in the inaugural meeting of the WHO–OIC Joint Steering Committee, held online with the participation of representatives from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

SESRIC participated in the OIC Cultural Festival: Baku Creative Week 2025 on 5-11 December 2025 at Heydar Aliyev Congress Centre in Baku. The Festival was organised by the General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in collaboration with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Azerbaijan. The Festival brought together around 300 international participants from over 50 countries along with more than thousands of visitors, including high level officials from ministries of culture, trade, industry and tourism as well as actors of creative industry sector from both OIC and other countries.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK addressed the High-level Arab Conference on "Child Labor and Social Protection Policies in Arab States", held in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt on 3-4 December 2025.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Bassam Ahmed Ali MARZOOQ, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Türkiye. The meeting aimed to explore mutually beneficial areas of collaboration that contribute to the development and well-being of the OIC community.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mohammed Ali LAZREQ, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Türkiye.

Within the framework of the Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series, SESRIC organised a webinar titled “Bridging the Data Gaps on SDG 2 Indicators: Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in OIC Countries” on 2 December 2025, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Health Organization (WHO), Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) as well as attending OIC member countries. The webinar was attended by 62 official statisticians and experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs), Ministries of Agriculture and Health of 24 OIC countries.
