A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, led by H.E. Pengiran Norhashimah binti Pengiran Mohd HASSAN, Permanent Secretary, visited SESRIC and met with H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK.

SESRIC and FAO Subregional Office for Central Asia (FAO-SEC) in Türkiye convened a coordination meeting at FAO Headquarters in Ankara, to discuss potential collaboration opportunities between the two organisations.

SESRIC participated in the 20^th Anniversary celebration of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), held under the visionary leadership of H.E. Taha AYHAN, President of ICYF. The event provided a platform to commemorate ICYF’s efforts in empowering youth across the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states and fostering their development as key drivers of progress in the region.

SESRIC participated in the Youth Policy Vision Document Workshop, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye on 17 December 2024 at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara. Mr. Muzamil EDEMA, Researcher at the Economic and Social Research Department, and Mr. Muhammet Zeki ÇELİK, Technical Cooperation Officer at the Training and Technical Cooperation Department, represented SESRIC thereat.

Within the framework of the Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB) and in line with the OIC Public Employment Services Network (OIC-PESNET) Work Plan 2024-2026, SESRIC, in collaboration with the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) of Kingdom of Morocco, organised a Webinar on “Methodologies for Collecting, Analysing, and Disseminating Statistics on the Labour Market: Countries’ Experiences and Challenges” on 18 December 2024. The webinar brought together 87 experts from Public Employment Institutions of 14 OIC African Member Countries.

Within the framework of its Transportation Capacity Building Programme (Transport_CaB), SESRIC successfully organized a webinar on “Developing Sustainable Transportation Strategies for Addressing Climate Change” on 18 December 2024.

Within the framework of the OIC Public Employment Services Network (OIC-PESNET) Work Plan 2024-2026 and the Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB), SESRIC organised a Webinar on “Methodologies for Collecting, Analysing and Disseminating Labour Market Statistics” on 18 December 2024.

Within the framework of the Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB), and in line with the OIC Occupational and Safety Health Network Work Plan 2023-2024, SESRIC, in collaboration with the OIC Labour Centre, has successfully a Webinar on “Improving OSH in Mining Sector” on 17 December 2024.

SESRIC participated in the Cihannüma Istanbul Forum 2024, organised by the Cihannüma Solidarity and Cooperation Association on 13-15 December 2024 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

H.E. Amb. Abdulhamed HAMZA, Representative of the League of Arab States, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at SESRIC headquarters in Ankara.

The meeting aimed to explore cooperation areas between SESRIC and the League of Arab States in areas of mutual interest, especially within the framework of the capacity-building initiatives.

Within the framework of the Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a webinar on “Navigating Family Challenges: Strengthening Bonds and Building Resilience” on 12 December 2024.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Environment Capacity Building Programme (Environment-CaB), and Disaster Risk Management Capacity Building Programme (DRM-CaB), the Centre, in collaboration with the International Islamic University Malaysia, organised a Webinar on “Post-Crisis Environmental Recovery Measures” on 12 December 2024.

Within the framework of the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) and Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health (DGOSH) under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye organised a training course on “Market Surveillance and Inspection of Personal Protective Equipment” on 11 December 2024 through an online video conference platform.

Within the framework of the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) and Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health (DGOSH) under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye organised a training course on “Personal Protective Equipment” on 10 December 2024 through an online video conference platform.

On the sidelines of the Workshop on “Energy Statistics, Balances, and Accounts for Informed Energy and Climate Policies”, SESRIC, in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), organized a panel discussion titled “The Role of National Statistical Offices in Supporting Data-Driven Energy Transitions” on 10 December 2024 at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye.

SESRIC, in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA), the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), organized a workshop titled “Energy Statistics, Balances, and Accounts for Informed Energy and Climate Policies”. The event was held from 10-12 December 2024 at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye, with the participation of 38 experts from National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Energy Ministries of 18 OIC Member Countries.

SESRIC, in collaboration with the OIC Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), organised an online training course on “Increasing the Production and Supply of Medicines, Vaccines and Medical Technologies in the OIC Member Countries” on 9-10 December 2024. The event was held within the framework of the IbnSina Health Capacity Building (IbnSina-CaB) Programme, and in line with the OIC Strategic Health Programme of Action (OIC SHPA) 2014-2023 as well as the 7th Session of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM).

SESRIC and the Women Development Organization (WDO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their ongoing cooperation in areas related to women empowerment. The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 8^th Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions (ACMOI) held in Jeddah.

SESRIC and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to achieve common goals towards enhancing institutional capacities in areas of mutual interest.

SESRIC and the Union of News Agencies (UNA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the 8^th Annual Coordination Meeting of the OIC Institutions (ACMOI), renewing the ongoing collaboration between the two OIC institutions.
