Within the framework of the OIC-VET Programme, and in collaboration with Altındağ Public Education Centre affiliated to the National Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkey, SESRIC organised three consecutive training of trainers courses on “Sewing”, “Woodcraft” and “Jewellery Design” on 11-15 November 2019, in Ankara, Turkey.

Within the scope of “SME Development and Empowerment Project” of the BINA Program, SESRIC organised a Training on “Pitching Skills” on 09-10 November 2019 at Bina Inbubator in Istanbul, Turkey, to short list selected entrepreneurs from NAMA Competition.

Within the framework of the OIC Multilateral Trading Systems Capacity Building Programme (MTS-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with MEMUR-SEN and Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC), organised a Training Workshop on “Changing World and Developing Trade Union Rights: Effective Trade Unionism” on 08-10 November 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the benefit of participants from trade unions in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran and Maldives.

The Start-up Meeting of the Reverse Linkage Project between Bangladesh and Turkey on “Enhancing Capacity in Cotton Varieties Development" took place on 7-8 November 2019 at Nazilli Cotton Research Institute of Turkey in Aydın, Turkey.

Within the scope of “SME Development and Empowerment Project” under the BINA Program, the Centre organised a Training Course on “Access to Turkish Market” in partnership with Arab Professionals Association in Turkey (APAT) at BINA Incubator in Istanbul, Turkey on 07 November 2019.

SESRIC, in collaboration with The Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, organised a Training Workshop for the Managers of West African Cross-Border Parks and Protected Areas on 05-07 November 2019 in Ankara, Turkey.

SESRIC in cooperation with IsDB and project partners organized a Study Visit on “Enhancing Capacity in Cotton Varieties Development" under the Reverse Linkage Project between Bangladesh and Turkey on 4-6 November 2019 in Aydın, Turkey.

The Regional Workshop on Modernisation of Official Statistics was organized by the Planning and Statistics Authority of Qatar (PSA) on 4-5 November 2019 in Doha, State of Qatar.

SESRIC delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General, participated in the Third OIC Member States Conference on Mediation that took place in Istanbul on 01 November 2019. The Conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey in collaboration with the OIC General Secretariat. The Conference carried the theme “Exploring Approaches to Effective Mediation: The Role of Culturally Sensitive Mediation”. The main objective of the Conference was to review the current state of mediation capacity within the OIC and build upon efforts to flesh out a Code of Conduct on culturally sensitive mediation.

SESEIC delegation headed by H.E Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General, participated in the 6th Istanbul Mediation Conference that took place in Istanbul on 31 October 2019. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey with the participation of the United Nations Secretary General High-level Advisory Board on Mediation.

SESRIC participated in the 11^th Annual Conference of OIC Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) on 27-31 October 2019 in Muscat, Oman.

SESRIC has received a delegation from Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, during their official mission in Turkey, on 25 October 2019 at its Headquarters in Ankara.

In its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), SESRIC, in collaboration with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, organised the 8^th Session of the OIC-StatCom at its Headquarters in Ankara on 23-25 October 2019.

SESRIC organised a Statistics Course on ‘Labour Market Statistics: Harmonization and Analysis of Administrative Data Sources’ on 22-24 October 2019 at the Department of Statistics (DoS) of Malaysia within the framework of OIC Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme.

The NAMA Competition for entrepreneurs is being launched as one of the activities of the SMEs Project, under the BINA Program in cooperation between SESRIC, IsDB and LPRD.

SESRIC conducted a one-day commemoration programme for Dhaka, the OIC City of Tourism 2019, on 15 October 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The programme consisted of two parts. The first part was an international seminar on “Development of Muslim Friendly Tourism in the Dhaka City” and the second part was an “Award Ceremony for the best Tour Operators in Dhaka” where three best tour operates in the city of Dhaka have been awarded for their remarkable contribution to the development of tourism in the city.

The First Meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of the Reverse Linkage Project between Sudan and Turkey on “Capacity Development of the Africa City of Technology” was held on 8 October 2019 at the office of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Regional Hub in Ankara, Turkey.

The Sixth Meeting of the Lead Country Coordinators’ Group (LCCG) and the Thirteenth Meeting of the OIC Steering Committee on Health (SCH) was held in Abu Dhabi, State of United Arab Emirates on 07-08 October 2019 respectively. Representatives of Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritania, Uganda, Saudi Arabia and Turkey as well as the host country, the State of United Arab Emirates; OIC General Secretariat; relevant OIC institutions namely, SESRIC and IsDB, and international organizations namely, WHO and the Vaccine Alliance (GAVI) were present during the meetings.

Pursuant to the Executive Programme for the Implementation of OIC Framework for Cooperation on Labour, Employment and Social Protection 2019/2020, and within the framework of the OIC Capacity Building Programme for Public Employment Services, SESRIC organized a training course on “Skills Development and Entrepreneurship” on 6-8 October 2019, in Djibouti City, Djibouti, in cooperation with National Agency for Employment and Independent Work of Tunisia.

The Fourth Session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers (ICYSM), held on 17-19 April 2018, in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan adopted the OIC Youth Strategy Document. Moreover, it was endorsed by the 45^th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held on 5-6 May 2018 in, Dhaka, People’s Republic of Bangladesh. This marks an important milestone for the youth living in OIC Member States as the Strategy Document identifies key challenges faced by youth, and presents policy actions as well as mechanisms to address these challenges in a systematic and coordinated way. As mentioned in the Way Forward section of the Youth Strategy, a successful implementation is only possible with the preparation of a comprehensive plan of action and putting the Strategy into practice. Nevertheless, this requires a close coordination among the relevant OIC institutions including ICYF-DC, SESRIC, IDB, ISESCO, ISSF, IUMS and ISF under the guidance and leadership of the OIC General Secretariat.
