SESRIC, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), organised the 11^th Session of the OIC-StatCom in a hybrid format at its Headquarters in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye, on 18-19 October 2022 in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The Session brought together 96 participants from the National Statistical Offices of 39 OIC countries. The Session has been also attended by representatives of 10 international and regional organisations, namely the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the OIC (COMCEC), Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-Stat), Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), United Nations Economic Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).

Organized on the side line of the Cairo Water Week 2022 held under the theme “Water at the Heart of Climate Action”, SESRIC participated in the Round Table on “Policy Guidelines for Sustainable Water Management in Agriculture in OIC member countries” which was organized by the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).

Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organised a Training of Trainers (ToT) Course on “Web Design and Coding” on 12-13 October 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on 'Price Statistics' with the attendance of 57 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 14 Arabic speaking OIC countries on 10-12 October 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on 'Usage of Administrative Registries in Producing Economic Statistics' through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 50 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 18 OIC countries on 26-28 September 2022.

In its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye organized and hosted the 4^th Meeting of the Forum on 25-26 September 2022 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The meeting brought together Governors and High-level Senior Officials from the Central Banks of OIC Member Countries to discuss the current global and OIC economic outlook and to exchange views on promoting cooperation among OIC countries within the framework of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) financial cooperation agenda.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Strengthening Financial Literacy and Promoting Islamic Finance in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 9^th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre, in collaboration with the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a Workshop on “Best Practices on Promoting Financial Literacy and Islamic Finance in the OIC Member Countries” on 25-26 September 2022 on the sidelines of the OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum in Istanbul, Türkiye.

SESRIC participated in the Regional Workshop on the “Changing Role of Official Statistics in the State of Qatar: Why Data Culture Matters” organised by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) of Qatar in partnership with Qatar Charity, Qatar Computing Research Institute, and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (UNESCWA) on 21-22 September 2022 in Doha, Qatar. The Workshop was attended by representatives of national, regional and international organisations.

Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organised a Training Workshop on “Distance Education and E-Learning in TVET” on 20-22 September 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on 'Usage of Administrative Registries in Producing Demographic and Social Statistics' through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 85 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 22 OIC countries on 19-25 September 2022.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Experience Sharing Programme on ‘Statistical Onboarding and Capacity Building for NSO Officials’ through an online video conferencing platform for the benefit of General Authority of Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

SESRIC and the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate and strengthen cooperation in the areas of common interests.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Fostering Information Technology (IT) Solutions to Improve the Effectiveness of Public Employment Services (PES) in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 9th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre, in collaboration with the project partners namely, Malaysian Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia and Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), organised a Workshop on “The Role of Digital Solutions for Effective Delivery of Public Employment Services in the OIC Countries” on 14-15 September 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Improving the Regulatory Framework for PPPs in Transport Sector in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 9th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre organised a Training Course on “Regulatory Framework for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in Transport Sector” on 13-14 September 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on ‘International Trade Statistics’ in collaboration with Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS) through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 33 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 14 Arabic speaking OIC countries on 13-15 September 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on 'Sustainable Tourism Indicators' through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 49 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 20 OIC countries on 12-14 September 2022.

The 5^th Session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers (ICYSM) was held under the theme of “Development of Youth and Sports for a Solidarity-Based Ummah” on 07-09 September 2022 in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Conference was attended by the Ministers of Youth and Sports, high-level policy makers and experts from the OIC Member States, OIC institutions as well as relevant international and regional organizations. SESRIC was represented by H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General, thereat.

Within the framework of its Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series, SESRIC organised a Webinar on ‘2020 Round of Population & Housing Censuses: Census Editing & Validation’ on 7 September 2022, in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) with the attendance of 60 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 21 OIC countries.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Strengthening Financial Literacy and Promoting Islamic Finance in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 9th Call for Project Proposals of the COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and Financial Services Authority of Indonesia organised a Training Course on “Using Financial Technologies (FINTECH) in Islamic Finance” on 07-08 September 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Strengthening Financial Literacy and Promoting Islamic Finance in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 9th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre, in collaboration with the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye organised a Training Course on “The Role of Central Banks in Increasing Financial Literacy” on 05-06 September 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.
