SESRIC hosted the Workshop on “Supporting Evidence-Based Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Reporting: Data and Statistics Innovations” in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) at SESRIC Headquarters on 6-7 December 2023 in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye. 18 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of selected 6 OIC and other VNR reporting countries participated in the Workshop.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB) and the UN-OIC Cooperation Matrix 2022-2024, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Women Development Organization (WDO), organised a Webinar on “Advocating Women's Rights within Family Laws: Best Practices in the OIC Member Countries” on 6-7 December 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC took part in the International Expert Roundtable Discussion on the “Preparation of Guiding Document for the Promotion and Implementation of Islamic Values and Ethics to Enhance Women, Children and Family Moral Wellbeing in Member Countries” from 4 to 6 December 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting was organised by the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization of the International Islamic University Malaysia (ISTAC-IIUM) in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Dr. Amalia Adininggar WIDYASANTI, Deputy Minister of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia, on the sidelines of the 39^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC, on 3 December 2023 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The 39^th Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) was held in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye. High-level representatives from the Member and Observer States of the OIC, relevant OIC institutions, as well as other international organizations attended the Session. SESRIC participated in the Session with a delegation led by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK.

The 39^th Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) was held on 2-5 December 2023 in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye. High-level representatives from the Member and Observer States of the OIC, relevant OIC institutions, as well as other international organizations attended the Session. SESRIC participated in the Session with a delegation headed by H.E. Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC.

SESRIC participated in the “International Conference on Wheat and Rice Value Chain Development and Food Losses and Waste Strategies in CWANA Region”. The Conference was organized by the IOFS in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), in Ankara, Türkiye.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK received H.E. Prof. Ibrahim Adam Ahmed AL DUKHAIRI, Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), at the SESRIC headquarters to explore potential collaborations and joint initiatives.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Serdar KARAGÖZ, Chairman of the Board of Anadolu Agency (AA), convened for a high-level bilateral meeting to discuss avenues for enhanced collaboration and strengthened ties between the two institutions.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Tourism Capacity Building Programme (Tourism-CaB) and in line with relevant resolutions of the 11^th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) as well as the 38^th Session of the COMCEC, SESRIC and the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) jointly organised a Training Course on “Strengthening Practice of Ecotourism and Conservation in the OIC Region” on 29-30 November 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on ‘Migration and Refugee Statistics’ for the benefit of 43 experts from National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 21 OIC countries on 27-28 November 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

In line with the relevant recommendations of the 39^th COMCEC Follow-up Committee, hosted by the Republic of Türkiye on 23-24 May 2023 in Ankara, SESRIC organized a Technical Meeting with the Competition Agencies of the OIC Countries on 27 November 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC hosted a bilateral discussion with MEDSTAT V (Euro Mediterranean Statistical Cooperation) on possible partnership programmes at its Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye on 22 November 2023.

SESRIC and the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan formalized their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The ceremony took place at the Headquarters of CAERC in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

SESRIC organised a Training Course on “Developing Regional Poverty Reduction Policies and Strategies” through an online video conferencing platform, as part of its Poverty Alleviation Capacity Building Programme (PA-CaB).
