Within the framework of the Reverse Linkage Project between Pakistan and Türkiye on “Earthquake Seismological Research”, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MRC) of Türkiye, and Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), organised three training courses in parallel, namely; Training Course on “Global Positioning System (GPS): Data Collection and Processing”, Training Course on “Seismology: Earthquake Data Processing and Analysis”, and Training Course on “Site Classification: Data Collection and Processing”. The training courses were conducted on 29 August - 06 September 2022 at Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Headquarters in Islamabad, Pakistan.

SESRIC participated in the 8^th Session of the ESCAP Committee on Statistics organised in a hybrid format by the Secretariat of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand and online on 23-25 August 2022.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Agriculture and Food Security Capacity Building Programme (Agri-CaB), the Centre, in collaboration with the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries Malaysia, organised a Training Course on “Enhancing Food Security through Efficient Irrigation Systems” on 23-25 August 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of SESRIC IbnSina Health Capacity Building Programme (IbnSina-CaB) and in line with the relevant resolutions of the 7^th Session of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt, organised a Training Course on “Prevention Strategies for Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases” on 15-17 August 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of the OIC Public Employment Services Network (OIC-PESNET) and in line with the OIC-PESNET Work Plan 2021-2022, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC-PESNET, SESRIC provided facilitation and necessary technical support for the Training Webinar on “Development of Entrepreneurial Skills of Disabled People” which was organised by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), in its capacity as the Chair of the OIC-PESNET, on 03 August 2022.

Within the framework of the implementation of the relevant resolutions adopted by the 1^st OIC Ministerial Conference on Social Development held in Istanbul in December 2019 and the 48^th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in Islamabad in March 2022, SESRIC and the OIC General Secretariat organised a Workshop on “Enhancing the Capacities of National Institutions in the Field of Social Development in the OIC Member States” on 02-04 August 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on ‘Transport Statistics’ through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 24 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 9 Arabic speaking OIC countries on 26-28 July 2022.

Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organised a Training Course on “Development of National Vocational Qualifications Framework” on 26-28 July 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Tourism Capacity Building Programme (Tourism-CaB) and in line with the relevant resolutions of the 11^th Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) as well as the 48^th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Centre organised a Training Course on “Strengthening Institutional Capacities in the Field of Halal Tourism Industry to Improve the Competitiveness of Tourism Destinations” on 19-21 July 2022.

The 15^th Session of the UN-OIC General Meeting on Cooperation was held at Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, on 18-20 July 2022. The meeting brought together high-level representatives from the Secretariats of the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as their specialized agencies and institutions.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on ‘Conducting a Census Based on Administrative Records’ through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 105 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 14 OIC countries on 4-5 July 2022.

SESRIC participated in the 6^th Meeting of the Heads of ECO National Statistical Offices (NSOs) organised virtually by the Secretariat of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) on 29 June 2022. The meeting was chaired by the Bureau of National Statistics (BNS) of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan with participation from the representatives of the NSOs of 8 ECO member countries and the international organisations, namely SESRIC, UNFPA, and UNICEF.

The 11^th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) was held on 27-29 June 2022 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan. The Conference brought together Ministers of Tourism and high level officials from the OIC Member States along with representatives of relevant OIC institutions and international organizations. SESRIC was represented by the H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General and Dr. Cem Tintin, Senior Researcher, thereat.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘SDG 4 (Quality Education) Indicators’ through an online video conferencing platform with the attendance of 45 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 11 French speaking OIC countries on 22-23 June 2022.

Within the framework of the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) and in line with the OIC-OSHNET Work Plan 2021-2022, the Directorate General of Occupational Safety and Health (DGOSH) at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC-OSHNET, organised a Training Course on “Occupational Zoonoses” on 21-22 June 2022 through an online video conferencing platform. SESRIC, in its capacity as the OIC Technical Coordinator of the OIC-OSHNET, provided facilitation and necessary technical support for the organisation of the training.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB) and in line with the OIC Public Employment Services Network (OIC-PESNET) Work Plan 2021-2022, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) of Malaysia, organized the Training Course on “Measuring the Impacts of Labour Market Information on Employment Services” on 21-23 June 2022.

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing , SESRIC organised a Webinar on ‘Experiences of OIC Countries in Producing Disaster Related Statistics’ on 16 June 2022 in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) with the attendance of 25 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 14 OIC countries.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘Big Data Applications on Price Intelligence’ in collaboration with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) through an online video conferencing platform on 14-16 June 2022.

Within the framework of its Water Resources Management Capacity Building Programme (Water-CaB) and in line with the relevant resolutions of the 4^th Session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT), organised the Training Course on “Waste Water Management and Recycling” on 13-16 June 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC in collaboration with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) co-organized a Special Session on “Impact of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on selected Member States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Africa” during the 25th Annual Conference on Global Economic Analysis , which took place virtually during 8-10 June 2022 under the theme of ‘Accelerating Economic Transformation, Diversification and Job Creation’.
