SESRIC and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan marked a new chapter in their collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

The 5^th Session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers (ICLM) was held on 21-23 November 2023 in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan under the theme of “Innovative Solutions and Digitalization of Labour and Employment Services in OIC Member States”. The Conference is hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MLSPP) and organized in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The 3^rd  OIC Tourism Fair under the theme of “An Exclusive Platform Promoting Muslim Friendly Tourism where Traditions and Modernity Converge,” was organized by the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) in collaboration with NeXTfairs and with the strategic sponsorship of the Qatar Tourism Center in Doha, Qatar. 

SESRIC and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) held an online technical meeting to enhance their collaborative efforts and explore potential joint initiatives in resilience and climate action. The meeting aligns with their ongoing commitment to support sustainable development within the OIC region.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on ' SDG 4 (Quality Education) Indicators' with the attendance of 13 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 9 Arabic speaking OIC countries on 20-22 November 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

The SESRIC delegation headed by Mr. Fadi Abdullah FARASIN, Assistant Director General of SESRIC, participated in the 43^rd Meeting of the Sessional Committee, which was held virtually.

SESRIC participated in the 8^th Meeting of the Sub-Group on Gender Statistics Training (SGGST), which was organised by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and the United Nations Statistical Institute of Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP). 

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK received H.E. Khadidjata TOURE, the esteemed Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Ankara at the SESRIC HQs. The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and explore potential avenues for collaboration between Côte d'Ivoire and SESRIC.

The 10^th Meeting of the Technical Committee of the Arab Statistics (ArabStat) Initiative was organised by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) on 8-9 November 2023. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of the National Statistical Offices and financial authorities of the Fund’s member countries and other relevant international organisations. Dr. Atilla KARAMAN, Director of Statistics and Information, represented SESRIC thereat.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Public Audit Capacity Building Programme (PAU-CaB), and in collaboration with the Turkish Court of Accounts (SAYIŞTAY), the Centre organized a Training Course on “International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI ISSAI Framework)” on 08-09 November 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK engaged in a productive bilateral meeting with H.E. Binta Jammeh SIDIBE, Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee at The Gambia OIC Secretariat, during the International Conference on Women in Islam held in Jeddah on 6-8 November 2023. The meeting aimed to explore promising avenues of collaboration between SESRIC and The Gambia, signifying a significant step towards enhancing general cooperation within the OIC framework.

SESRIC held a productive bilateral meeting with Indonesia on the sidelines of the International Conference on Women in Islam held in Jeddah on 7 November 2023.

SESRIC participated in the virtual 11^th Meeting of the OIC/ COMCEC Private Sector Tourism Forum, hosted by the Secretariat, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Republic of Türkiye, on 7 November 2023 in partnership with the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC). The Forum was attended by nearly 100 representatives from 30 OIC member countries’ relevant national and private institutions responsible for Tourism as well as international and regional organizations.

SESRIC participated in the 12^th Annual Meeting of the COMCEC Capital Markets Regulators Forum (CMR) that was held virtually on 7 November 2023, and was hosted by the Capital Market Board (CMB) of Türkiye, the Secretariat of the Forum.

SESRIC actively engaged in the influential “International Conference on Women in Islam: Status and Empowerment”, organised by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This significant event took place on 6-8 November 2023, in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Increasing the Utilization of Innovative Financing Tools to Maintain Transport Infrastructure and the Services of TSPs in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 10th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre, in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a Field Visit on the “Implementation of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in Türkiye” on 03 November 2023 in Istanbul, Türkiye, within the framework of the Workshop on “Increasing the Utilization of Innovative Financing Tools to Maintain the Transport Infrastructure and the Services of TSPs”.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a visit to H.E. Mekan ISHANGULIYEV, Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Ankara. The meeting aimed at exploring potential areas of cooperation and cementing existing ties between SESRIC and Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of the SESRIC project titled “Increasing the Utilization of Innovative Financing Tools to Maintain Transport Infrastructure and the Services of TSPs in the OIC Member Countries”, which is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) under the 10th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding, the Centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a Workshop on “Increasing the Utilization of Innovative Financing Tools to Maintain the Transport Infrastructure and the Services of TSPs” on 1-3 November 2023 in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.

SESRIC participated in the 17^th Meeting of the OIC Exchanges Forum (OICEF), which was held virtually on 31 October 2023.

SESRIC participated in the Round Table on “Supporting Policies and Innovations for Integrated Water Management in OIC Member States,” which was organised by the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) in collaboration with the Inter-Islamic Network on Water Resources Development and Management (INWRDAM) during the Cairo Water Week 2023 on 31 October 2023 in Cairo, Egypt.
