Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organized a Webinar on “Mechanisms for Licensing and Accrediting TVET Institutions” on 30 October 2023 for the benefit of 66 experts and executives from TVET Authorities and relevant national institutions in the 11 OIC Africa French-Speaking Member States.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB) and in collaboration with the Directorate General of Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health Development of the Ministry of Manpower of Indonesia, the Centre organised a Training Course on “Fundamentals of Occupational Hygiene” on 30-31 October 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC participated in the First Doha Data Forum for Inclusive Data Ecosystems and Effective Decision Making which was organized under the patronage of H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) of State of Qatar on 29-30 October 2023 in Doha, Qatar. The Forum was participated by the representatives of ministries, government agencies, universities, research centres of State of Qatar, and international and regional organisations including SESRIC.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a farewell visit to H.E. Mohammad Shafiee bin Haji KASSIM, the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam in Ankara.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. M Amanul HAQ, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Ankara. The meeting served as an opportunity for both parties to explore potential areas of cooperation and discuss ongoing and future initiatives, aimed at enhancing collaboration activities in the realm of training courses, workshops, webinars, and study visits.

Mr. Osman Baturhan DURSUN, Secretary General of the Turkish Green Crescent Society, visited H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at the SESRIC Headquarters. The meeting highlighted the important work carried out by SESRIC in the area of tobacco control.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Mr. Nadir Yousif ELTAYEB, Ambassador of Sudan in Ankara. The meeting, held at the Sudanese Embassy, addressed various socio-economic aspects and initiatives to foster cooperation.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Saeed Thani Hareb AL DHAHERI, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Ankara.

Within the framework of the COMCEC-funded SESRIC Project on “Unleashing the Potential of Islamic Finance in Supporting MSMEs in the OIC Member Countries”, the Centre organized a Training Course on “Leveraging Key Stakeholders towards Inclusive and Sustainable Development of MSMEs” on 24-26 October 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Yasser Ahmed HASSAN, Director of the International Labour Organization Türkiye Office (ILO Türkiye) at the SESRIC HQs. The meeting served as an opportunity for both parties to explore potential areas of cooperation and discuss ongoing and future initiatives, aimed at enhancing collaboration in fıeld of labour and social protection.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Noura AL SUWAIDI, Director General of the UAE General Women's Union.

In her diplomatic engagements in the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mrs. Reem AL FALASI, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC) of the UAE. The meeting provided both sides to discuss possible cooperation between SESRIC and SCMC aimed at advancing social development and enhancing the welfare of women and children.

SESRIC attended the FDI Statistics Symposium organised by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) with the theme of “Bridging Investment Data Gaps” on 20 October 2023 on the margins of the 8^th World Investment Forum (WIF8) held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The 9^th Session of the Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World was held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 19 October 2023 under the theme of “Towards Green Transformation in the Islamic World”. The Conference brought together Ministers of Environment and high level officials from OIC member countries and representatives of relevant OIC institutions and international organizations. SESRIC was represented at the Conference by H.E. Ms. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General, and Dr. Esat BAKIMLI, Senior Researcher.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Khalifa Al Qubaisi of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) held a bilateral meeting on 18 October 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK visited H.E. Hanan Mansour AHLI, Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) of UAE in Dubai on 17 October 2023 in order to explore cooperation possibilities.

SESRIC attended the 8^th World Investment Forum (WIF8) organised by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 16-20 October 2023.

SESRIC attended the 21^st Meeting of the COMCEC Trade Working Group held with the theme of “Improving E-Commerce Capacities of the OIC Member Countries” on 16-17 October 2023 in Ankara, Türkiye.

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) participated at the 21^st Meeting of the COMCEC Tourism Working Group held with the theme of “Promoting Entrepreneurship for Tourism Industry Competitiveness in the OIC Countries” in OIC Member Countries” held on 16-17 October 2023 in Ankara, Türkiye. Mr. Davron ISHNAZAROV, Researcher at Economic and Social Research Department of SESRIC, delivered a presentation on the topic "Promoting Entrepreneurship for Tourism Industry Competitiveness in OIC Countries" and briefed the representatives of the working group about the Centre’s and OIC level efforts, which are conducted with an aim to improving their national capacities in the domain.
