SESRIC, in collaboration with the Permanent Observer Mission of the OIC to the United Nations, organised a High-Level Panel Discussion on “Social Safety Nets for Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities: Sharing Best Practices and Strengthening Social Security in OIC Member States” on the sidelines of the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD (COSP19) on 8 June 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

SESRIC participated in the Roundtable Meeting of Islamic Banking Associations entitled “Elevating the Global Voice of Islamic Banking: Strengthening Representation, Alignment, and Collaboration through CIBAFI’s Leadership”, organized by the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) in collaboration with Al Baraka Forum, and held on the sidelines of the 3^rd Global Islamic Economy Summit on 3 June 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

SESRIC participated in the OIC Youth Entrepreneurship Conference 2026 held on 3-4 June 2026 in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, under the leadership of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Investment and Finance Office of the Republic of Türkiye.

SESRIC participated in the 3^rd Global Islamic Economy Summit at the Istanbul Financial Centre (IFC) in Istanbul. Organised by the AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, this event will bring together global policymakers, central bank governors, ministers, international investors, and leading academics from around the world under the theme “Capital in the Islamic Economy: Structuring Wealth for Sustainable Development”.

SESRIC held an online technical meeting with representatives of the Nile Water Sector (NWS) of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MoWRI) of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The technical meeting followed up on the bilateral meeting held between HE Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and HE Prof. Dr. Hani Atif Nabhan SWEILAM, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Egypt on the sidelines of the 5^th Istanbul International Water Forum in May 2026.

On the sidelines of the 13^th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan, a SESRIC delegation visited Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Azer MURSAGULOV, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK delivered a keynote speech during the KOBİA side event at the 13^th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum in Baku.

SESRIC participated in the International Day Programme organised by on 20 May 2026 at the university’s campus in Istanbul. The event brought together students, academicians, and representatives from various institutions.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Statistical Training Course on “Labour Statistics” on 20-21 May 2026 through an online video conferencing platform. The training course was organised in collaboration with the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) with a view to strengthening the capacities of OIC Member Countries in producing reliable, timely and policy-relevant labour market statistics.

SESRIC held an online technical meeting with the representatives of the Amelioration Scientific Research Institute (SMETI) of Azerbaijan following the bilateral meetings conducted with the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA) on the sidelines of the 5^th Istanbul International Water Forum held on 5-6 May 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

SESRIC participated in the Ministerial Session of the 7^th General Assembly of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) held virtually on 14 May 2026 in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan. The high-level gathering brought together OIC Ministers of Agriculture, senior policymakers, representatives of relevant OIC institutions and international organizations to strengthen cooperation on food security across OIC member countries.

SESRIC, as the Executing Organ of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET), organised a Webinar on “The Roadmap for Facilitating Digital Transition in National VET Systems in OIC Member Countries” on 14 May 2026.

SESRIC participated in the 10^th International Occupational Health and Safety Conference held on 12–13 May 2026 in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye, under the theme “Shaping the Fu-ture Together: Sustainable Occupational Health and Safety for All”. The conference was or-ganised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye and brought together representatives from public institutions, international organisations, academ-ia, social partners, and relevant stakeholders to discuss recent developments and future per-spectives in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH).

SESRIC participated in the 42^nd Meeting of the Follow-up Committee of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the OIC (COMCEC), which convened to review recent developments under the COMCEC framework, including progress in the implementation of the COMCEC Strategy. The deliberations focused on the outcomes of the COMCEC Working Group Meetings and the status of projects planned for implementation in 2026 under the COMCEC Project Funding mechanism. Discussions covered key cooperation areas, namely intra-OIC trade, private sector development, financial cooperation, transport and communications, tourism, agriculture, poverty alleviation and digital transformation. Relevant OIC institutions also briefed the Committee on their ongoing activities in support of these cooperation areas.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Statistical Training Course on “Tourism Statistics” with the attendance of 81 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Ministries of Tourism of 32 OIC Member Countries on 12-13 May 2026 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC and Al-Mujadilah Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the World Decolonisation Forum, held in Istanbul on 11-12 May 2026, to further strengthen collaboration efforts.

SESRIC participated in the 7^th International Culture Day organised by OSTİM Technical University on 6 May 2026 at its campus in Ankara. The fair served as a platform to explore diverse cultures, discover unique traditions and celebrate the University’s global community, bringing together students, academicians, and representatives of diplomatic missions.
