Within the framework of its Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly under the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a Training Workshop on “Health and Social Care Policies towards Supporting Independent Living for People with Disabilities” on 08-10 February 2022 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Culture Statistics’ with the attendance of 10 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 7 OIC countries on 07 – 09 February 2022.

The 14^th Meeting of the OIC Health Steering Committee was held in a hybrid format under the Chairmanship of the United Arab Emirates, the Chair of the 7^th Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM), on 06 February 2022 at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by high-level officials and experts from 21 members of the Steering Committee, including 11 OIC member countries, 5 OIC institutions, and 5 international organizations.

H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the OIC received H.E. Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC, in his office in Jeddah, KSA, on 17 January 2022. The Director General briefed H.E. the Secretary General on the various programmes, projects and activities of SESRIC in the three mandated areas of the Centre; i.e. statistics, research and training.

Within the framework of the Reverse Linkage Project between Bangladesh and Türkiye on “Enhancing Capacity in Cotton Varieties Development”, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and Nazilli Cotton Research Institute (CRI) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, organized a Training Course on “Biotechnological Tools and Techniques for Cotton - Sample Collection Activities” on 17-28 January 2022 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

SESRIC participated in the meeting of the Steering Committee for the Implementation of the OIC STI Agenda 2026 which was held virtually on 05 January 2022 and hosted by the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH). H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC and Mr. Mazhar Hussain, Director of Economic and Social Research Department represented the Centre thereat.
