Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organized a Training Workshop on “Integrating Formal and Informal TVET Education in OIC-Africa French-Speaking Member Countries” on 27-28 December 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on 'Information Society Statistics' for the benefit of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of the OIC countries on 27-28 December 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK engaged in a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Faed MUSTAFA, the esteemed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Türkiye. The meeting delved into multifaceted collaborations and underscored the enduring commitment of SESRIC to fostering technical cooperation with OIC countries.

SESRIC and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) conducted a virtual coordination meeting on 21 December 2023 to discuss a broad spectrum of mutual interests, particularly by focusing on the co-organization of initiatives aimed at enhancing women and youth entrepreneurship, promoting social inclusion in the labor market, and fostering economic empowerment in the OIC region.

SESRIC engaged in a productive online coordination meeting with the Ministry of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, following the bilateral meeting between H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Dr. Said ALSAQRI, Minister of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, during the 39^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC on 4 December 2023, in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye,.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Disaster Risk Management Capacity Building Programme (DRM-CaB), the Centre, in collaboration with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) of the Republic of Türkiye, organised a Training Course on “Strengthening Information Management Systems for Effective Disaster-Risk Reduction (DRR) in OIC Countries” on  20-21 December 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC held a virtual coordination meeting with the Ministry of National Economy (MNE) of the State of Palestine on 19 December 2023, following the bilateral meeting between H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Khaled OSAILY, Minister of National Economy of the State of Palestine, on the sidelines of the 39^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC, on 4 December 2023, in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.

SESRIC, under its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, conducted a virtual Training Course on ‘SDG 13 (Climate Action) Indicators’ on 19-20 December 2023, in collaboration with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). 35 participants from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and relevant Ministries of 20 OIC member countries actively participated in the training course.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on 'SDG 8.9 (Sustainable Tourism) Indicators' for the benefit of 18 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Ministries of Tourism of 6 French speaking OIC countries on 18-20 December 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on `SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, Infrastructure) Indicators' for the benefit of 22 experts of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 9 Arabic speaking OIC countries on 18-19 December 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

H.E. Ambassador Nadir Yousif ELTAYEB of Sudan and H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Saleh Ahmed TURIQ of Yemen paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at the SESRIC HQs in Ankara.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK conducted a bilateral visit to H.E. Amar BELANI, the Ambassador of Algeria to Ankara. Both representatives participated in deliberations with the objective of investigating potential areas of collaboration between SESRIC and Algerian national institutions.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a visit to H.E. Amr Soliman Abdelmeguid ELHAMAMY, the Ambassador of Egypt to Ankara to explore opportunities for further increasing collaboration between SESRIC and the relevant national institutions in Egypt.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK engaged in a bilateral meeting with H.E. Ambassador Achmad Rizal PURNAMA of Indonesia in Ankara. The visit aimed to fortify collaboration, placing a particular emphasis on SESRIC’s ongoing commitment to advancing capacity-building programs within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries.

Following the recommendations of the bilateral meeting between H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, and H.E. Dr. Amalia Adininggar WIDYASANTI, Deputy Minister of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia, on the margins of the 39^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC on 3 December 2023 in Istanbul, Türkiye, a virtual technical meeting was convened on 14 December 2023.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk welcomed Ambassador Adoum Dangai Nokour GUET from the Embassy of Chad in Ankara. The courtesy visit aimed at strengthening the ties between SESRIC and Chad, fostering collaboration, and exploring potential areas of cooperation.

SESRIC and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) held an online coordination meeting to discuss on the preparations for the upcoming new edition of the report “State of Youth in the OIC Member States” and to explore further collaboration between the two institutions.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, addressed the Workshop on “Family Dynamics, Social Transformations Challenges and AI” held in a hybrid format in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.

SESRIC participated in the virtual workshop on Commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme of “Enhancing Welfare and Integration of Persons with Disabilities”, hosted by the General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in collaboration with the Arab Republic of Egypt, Chair of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Social Development. 

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organized a Webinar on “Prospects for Harmonizing Statistics on Halal Sector” on 11 December 2023. The webinar was conducted in collaboration with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, and Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC).
