SESRIC participated in the Closing Conference of the "Support for Transition to Labour Market" Project (ISDEP 2), held on 19 June 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye. The ceremony marked the successful completion of the technical assistance project, which was implemented in collaboration with the World Bank and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Türkiye.

SESRIC and INCEIF University signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 18 June 2026, on the margins of the 2026 IsDB Annual Meetings in Baku.

SESRIC participated in the programme entitled “National and Local Crop Varieties Promotion Day”, held on 18 June 2026 in Ankara.

SESRIC and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) held a meeting on the margins of the IsDB Annual Meeting in Baku.

SESRIC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Water and Amelioration Scientific Research Institute (SMETI) of the Republic of Azerbaijan to strengthen cooperation in the field of water resources and related technical areas. The MoU was signed on 18 June 2026 in Baku on the sidelines of the IsDB Annual Meetings 2026.

As part of its Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series, SESRIC, in collaboration with UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), organised a webinar on “Foreign Direct Investment and Competitiveness Statistics” on 17 June 2026.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK spoke at the Strategic Leadership Dialogue panel held as part of the IsDB Halal Economy Leadership Forum (HELF) and the special edition of the AZHAB Forum, convened during the 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.

SESRIC and the Azerbaijan Women Entrepreneurship Development Association signed an MoU on 17 June 2026 on the margins of the IsDB Annual Meeting in Baku.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, UN Special Envoy on Financing Sustainable Development, on the margins of the IsDB Annual Meetings in Baku.

SESRIC, as the Executing Organ of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET), participated virtually in the hybrid Seminar on “Women in TVET: Empowering Potential, Shaping the Future” on 16 June 2026. Invited by the long-standing partner, the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, SESRIC contributed to the event with a dedicated presentation titled “SESRIC's Initiatives in Advancing Women's Empowerment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)”. The presentation highlighted the inception, objectives, and implementation modalities of the OIC-VET Programme since its official launch in 2009.

SESRIC participated in the OSTIMTECH Young Minds Exhibition, organised by OSTIM Technical University on 13 June 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye.

SESRIC participated in the Second Public Finance Forum, which was organized by the Sharjah Award in Public Finance in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) and held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on 10–11 June 2026 under the theme “Public Finance in the Face of Global Crises: Strategic Visions – Present Challenges – Future Prospects.”

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with H.E. Wafa Saed BANI MUSTAFA, Minister of Social Development of Jordan, and Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Tarek EL NABULSI, Director of the Development & Social Policies Department at the League of Arab States, on the margins of COSP19 in New York.

SESRIC participated in the programme entitled “Before Cities Run Dry: Xeriscaping for the Future of Water and Türkiye’s Water Atlas”, held on 9 June 2026 in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye. Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, the programme brought together representatives of public institutions, academia, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders to address sustainable water management, water-efficient landscaping practices, and strategies for tackling growing water scarcity challenges.

SESRIC delegation participated in the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD (COSP19), which was scheduled for 9-11 June 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event brought together representatives from States Parties, UN entities, national human rights institutions, and civil society organisations, among others.

According to the 2025 SDG Progress Report of SESRIC, advancing infrastructure is crucial to boost development levels and close the gap between OIC and other regions. While progress has been recorded in some areas under SDG 9, it remains uneven, with many indicators showing moderate or stagnant trends. At the current pace, most OIC countries are unlikely to achieve the SDG 9 targets by 2030.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Statistical Training Course on “Migration and Refugee Statistics” on 9–10 June 2026 through an online video conferencing platform. The training course was organised in collaboration with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

SESRIC contributed to the side event titled “Economic Participation: Redesigning Transition Pathways for Persons with Disabilities in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” on 8 June during COSP19 at the UNHQ in New York.

SESRIC participated virtually in the 26^th Meeting of the COMSATS Coordinating Council (CCM), held on 8–9 June 2026 in Surabaya, Indonesia.
