Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Gender and Special Population Groups Statistics’ with the participation of 9 attendees from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 2 OIC countries on 18-19 March 2021.

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organised a webinar on ‘SDG 9 Indicators’ on 18 March 2021 with the participation of 43 attendees from 18 OIC member countries, namely Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Benin, Egypt, Guyana, Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mozambique, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Suriname and Turkey.

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organised a webinar on ‘SDG 6 Indicators’ on 17 March 2021 with the participation of 37 attendees from 19 OIC member countries, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Benin, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Malaysia, Morocco, Mozambique, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Turkey, UAE, and Yemen.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Tobacco Free OIC Capacity Building Programme (TF-CaB), the Centre organized a Training Course on “Packaging, Labeling and Pictorial Health Warnings on Tobacco Products” on 15 - 17 March 2021 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Transport Statistics’ with the participation of 52 attendees from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Ministries of Transport of 8 OIC countries on 15-18 March 2021.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB) and OIC-VET Programme, the Centre organized a training course on “Advancement and Empowerment of Women’s Entrepreneurial Skills” on 08-11 March 2021 through an online video conferencing platform.

Jointly with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), SESRIC organized a virtual Training Workshop on “Tourism Destination Marketing Strategies” on 02-04 March 2021 through an online video conferencing platform. The training workshop was organized within the framework of SESRIC’s Tourism Capacity Building Programme and in line with the relevant resolutions on tourism development adopted by the 47th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC and the 36th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC, both held in November last year.

The delegation of SESRIC headed by HE Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General, and composed of Mr. Fadi Farasin, Assistant Director General; Dr. Atilla Karaman, Director of Statistics and Information Department; and Ms. Nenden Octavarulia Shanty, Researcher, participated in the 52^nd Session of UN Statistical Commission (UNSC) organised in a virtual format on 1-3 March and 5 March 2021.

In its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), SESRIC organised, through a video-conferencing platform, the Follow-up Meeting of the 9^th Session of the OIC-StatCom on 25 February 2021 as a side event of the 52^nd Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission. In addition to the representatives of the OIC General Secretariat and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), 59 delegates from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 28 OIC member countries attended the meeting.

Within its recently initiated Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organised a webinar on “Tourism Statistics” on 24 February 2021 with the participation of 70 attendees from 17 OIC member countries, namely Albania, Algeria, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mozambique, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Suriname, Togo, and Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of its Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB), SESRIC organised a training course on “Formulating Monetary Policy” on 22-25 February 2021 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within its recently initiated Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organised a webinar on “Population Statistics and Censuses” on 22 February 2021 with the participation of 26 attendees from 20 OIC member countries, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Benin, Brunei, Gabon, Gambia, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Suriname, and Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Statistical Data Analysis’ with the participation of 44 attendees from the Regional Educational Centre of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Chad and National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 5 OIC countries on 17-19 February 2021. The training course was provided by an expert from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) for the benefit of 27 educational mentors and Arab school principals in Chad and additionally attended by 17 experts from the NSOs of five OIC countries; namely, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Tunisia, and UAE.

Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organised a Webinar on “Strengthening Private Sector Involvement in Skills Development” on 11 February 2021 at 12:00-13:30 (GMT+3). Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘International Trade Statistics and Balance of Payments’ with the participation of 23 attendees from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and relevant Ministries of 6 OIC countries on 08-11 February 2021.

Within the framework of its Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB) and in line with the Executive Programme for the Implementation of OIC Framework for Cooperation on Labour, Employment and Social Protection, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), organized a training workshop on “Institutional Capacity Building for Effective Labour Market Information Systems” on 01-04 February 2021, in a virtual-only format. The training workshop gathered 83 participants from public employment agencies/ authorities and relevant national institutions of 22 OIC member countries to discuss how to establish effective labour market information systems in their respective countries.

Within its recently initiated Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organised a webinar on 'Innovation Statistics' on 21 January 2021 in collaboration with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) with the participation of 56 attendees from 21 OIC member countries (Algeria, Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Suriname, Togo, Turkey, UAE, Uganda, and Uzbekistan).

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Tourism Statistics’ with the participation of 17 attendees from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 7 OIC countries on 18-21 January 2021.

The 9^th Steering Committee Meeting of the BINA Program was held virtually on 14 January 2021 to follow up on the progress made and the future actions with respect to the implementation of the Program. The Meeting was held virtually and attended by the Steering Committee Meeting members from the partnering institutions; SESRIC, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Libyan Program for Reintegration and Development (LPRD). The Committee made a number of decisions to ensure the smooth implementation of the program and its completion by the target date.

Within the framework of the OIC-VET Programme and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC organized a workshop on “Emerging Challenges in TVET Sector and Capacity Development Trends in OIC Member States” on 11-14 January 2021 for the benefit of TVET authorities in the OIC Member States.
