SESRIC and the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to facilitate the collaboration and cooperation between both institutions within the framework of the project titled “Integration of Tobacco Questions for Surveys of Youth (TQS-Youth) into the National Surveys in Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member Countries”. The MoA was signed by H.E. Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, and H.E. Mr. Nurmahmadzoda JAMSHED, Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

A delegation led by H.E. Mr. Joneri ALIMIN, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, paid a courtesy visit to HE Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK. The visit aimed to increase cooperation linkages between SESRIC and national institutions of Indonesia, with a particular emphasis on possible joint activities and projects in areas of common interest.

Within the framework of the SESRIC Competition Authorities Capacity Building Programme (CA-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Turkish Competition Authority (TCA), organised a Training Course on “Empowering Competition Authorities for Fair Market Competition” on 2-3 April 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), organised a Training Course on “Statistical Business Registers” on 1-2 April 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organized a Webinar on “Renewable Energy Statistics” on 28 March 2024 in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and with the contributions of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Mozambique National Institute of Statistics and the BPS Statistics of Indonesia.

Following the virtual meeting between SESRIC and the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) on 14 December 2023, a consensus was reached to organise a Workshop on “Halal Industry Development in OIC Member Countries”, SESRIC subsequently shared the draft concept note with BAPPENAS. The workshop is scheduled to take place on 24-25 April 2024. In order to refine the specifics of the workshop, a virtual coordination meeting was held on 27 March 2024. The meeting was primarily devoted to deliberations on the logistical framework of the workshop and the identification of prospective speakers for this collaborative undertaking.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Public Audit Capacity Building Programme (PAU-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Turkish Court of Accounts (TCA), organised a training course on “Navigating the Audit Landscape of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs)” on 27-28 March 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Workshop on “SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) Indicators” on 26-27 March 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

SESRIC participated in the Special Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA) Meeting on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) monitoring on 22 March 2024, virtually hosted by the United Nations Statistical Division (UNSD) in New York.

SESRIC participated in the Meeting of the Regional Coordination Group (RCG) on Data and Statistics on 22 March 2024, virtually hosted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva.

SESRIC and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held a virtual coordination meeting on 21 March 2024 as a preparatory stage of the Webinar on “Renewable Energy Statistics” which will be organized by SESRIC in collaboration with the IRENA on 28 March 2024.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Süleyman YILMAZ, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Türkiye Country Representative and Director of UNIDO Center for Regional Cooperation (UCRC). The discussions focused on exploring potential areas of cooperation between SESRIC and UNIDO Türkiye with a particular focus on fostering sustainable industrial development within the OIC region.

Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in October 2023, SESRIC and the Malaysian Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) held a virtual coordination meeting on 21 March 2024 to discuss and plan future collaboration. The meeting focused on identifying specific programmes for joint initiatives.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mrs. Bineta DIOP, Special Envoy at the African Union (AU) office on the sidelines of the 68^th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in New York. The meeting aimed at enhancing collaboration between SESRIC and the AU in advancing women's empowerment across diverse sectors.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Laila bint AHMED AL NAJJAR, Minister of Social Development of Oman. The meeting took place on 15 March 2024, on the sidelines of the 68^th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), held at UN Headquarters in New York.

During the 68^th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) held in New York, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, met with H.E. Dr. Amal HAMAD, Minister of Women's Affairs of the State of Palestine. The discussion centered around SESRIC’s initiatives to support evidence-based research on women in Gaza and Palestine.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Ensiyeh KHAZALI, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of Iran, on 14 March 2024, during the 68^th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) at UN headquarters in New York. The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation and promote initiatives that empower women and family well-being.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, met with H.E. Dr. Maya MORSY, President of the National Council for Women in the Arab Republic of Egypt, during the 68^th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in New York. The meeting aimed at fostering cooperation to empower women and families across OIC countries.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, came together with H.E. Ambassador Hameed Ajibaiye OPELOYERU, the Permanent Observer of the OIC at the United Nations, on the sidelines of the 68^th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in New York.

SESRIC participated in a virtual coordination meeting with the OIC General Secretariat on 13 March 2024. The meeting focused on the preparatory stages for the final report on the implementation of the OIC-2025 Programme of Action (POA).
